The MET 2 Program is now accepting applications for the 2025 program. The Mechanical and Manufacturing Technologies for Energy and Sustainability (MET²) Program prepares community college and university mechanical and manufacturing engineering and technology students to enter the workforce by integrating relevant technical skills with necessary professional, social & entrepreneurial skills. These are the skills that are required to meet today’s workforce demands. We invite students from Connecticut State Community College and our partner universities to join this exciting, hands-on engineering and technology program. This unique initiative brings students from CT State Community College and universities in Connecticut to work on real-world problems and projects in inter-institutional, interdisciplinary, self-managed teams. The 2025 program develops and enhances your technology and engineering skills through these projects, preparing you for the present workforce and future. We are committed to ensuring that you are ready to meet the needs of Industry 4.0. Student stipends are available and funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing. Students will receive a stipend for participation in the program (Winter Intersession plus a minimum of 65 hours spent on their project during the spring semester) up to $1,750 ($750 for participation in the Winter Intersession and up to $1,000 for hours worked -maximum 100 hours on projects during the spring semester – participating in both parts is mandatory).

Teams will meet and conduct research culminating in a professional-level final report and presentation.
NOTE
Accepted participants must be able to commit to the following requirements:
1) Attend the 2025 Winter Intersession Program (Thursday, January 2 – Thursday, January 16, 2025)
2) Continue work, including team meetings and research, which may account for up to 100 hours with their Program Team during the 2025 Spring Semester
3) Contribute to the final report and presentation (due by Friday, June 6, 2025)
